Become my Patreon member, get early access: http://duckshit.net BACK AGAIN! A lot of time has passed between videos. A lot of life changes and other things. So here I am demonstrating the need for a custom sprocket and what I did about getting one, with about a year gap between video edits. I got the custom sprocket machined and adapter by Abom79. Adam is a great guy and does some awesome work. Give him a subby. History: I finished the front engine mount this afternoon, I made the brackets from the old brackets that this engine used in a different bike. Just a simple cut and redrill. I also bartered for the necessary exhaust pipe pair for this engine, and did a little bending to get them to fit this frame. History: The Doodlebug engine had its own gas tank attached to the engine, since this engine swap deletes that gas tank, I decided to make my own that fits the frame. It was cold out today so I went and made a drawing and a cardboard model indoors, and hopefully next week we'll cut the template into some sheet metal, and get it all welded together. Also, the CR500 is nearly dug out! More on that soon! I did a little planning for the footpeg crossbar, I intended it to be used to also support the rear engine mounts as 2 tubes should extend from it to the top "backbones" of the DoodleBug frame. After some fab, some welding, and some cleanup the rear of the engine is now mounted. I also filled more splits and cuts and cracks in the frame that were discovered. History: Today I started on the top head stay mount, and got the frame extended so I could move the seat backwards. I also cut and removed the footpeg bar, as it was conflicting where I wanted to but the front engine mount, the footpegs have to go backwards anyways so that I may have a simple usable gear shift lever. Yeah, I'm a little nuts, perhaps... but I needed a little side project to keep me busy until the CR500 is dug out from under LaLaLauren311's junk.. Best of all, so far this project hasn't cost me anything at all! 100% FREE!!!! While working on a friend's Baja DB30 (DoodleBug/Dirtbug) my neighbor asked me if I could fix his, upon us realizing the mess it was in, he gave it to me rather than attempting to fix it. I immediately had a vision, and tore the 2.5HP lawnmower engine out straight away. I envisioned fitting a 15HP 5-speed Honda XR200 Chinese clone engine (the same engine that was in the Chinese Choppers that I used to have.) After some unbolting, some cleaning and cutting and stretching. The motor now fits into the frame! This machine is awaiting engine mounting tabs next. This project should be rather easy, fun, and DANGEROUS TO RIDE! Whats more awesome than than risking injury or deatht? More updates to come!
